My first vote goes to: Lupos-freak
Because: I love it, Sander! It gives me goosebumps. I don't no why. It's happy, it's cute, there are feelings in that poem.
My second vote goes to: Hippogriefje
Because: Well, let's see. It's so nice and sweet, that poem of you! Oh, there are feelings in that poem, too! How much I liked it! Sorry, I'm a little obsessed |

Why is it that I cannot write proper poems for this contest?^^" I'll try again next month, here are my votes...
My first vote goes to: Tarantallegra.
This poem really fits my interpretation of the photo. The rhyme and rhythm are brilliant and you've even managed to find a word that rhyms to "world"! (I've been looking for that for ages!^^) I also really love the last sentence.
My second vote goes to: Smoky.
I agree that it's very different from what you usually write, but I love it! I like the fact that the phrase "by the old oak trees" returns at the end of the poem, and I can really picture the whole story. Love it!
My third vote goes to: Lavender Brown.
It is a beautiful poem. The boy being a sort of king on his throne is well thought up, and I like the -unexpected- rhyme at the end. I like the words you use, especially in the first stanza. |

Argh, this was hard to do. There were al lot of good poems.
First vote: Child Of The Other Side
Because: Sorry Marlie, you're my favorite again. ^^ It's a bloody good poem. Your subject is original and deep. Your vocabulary and creativity is amazing. And I like the line ''Can you hear me coming tonight''. So, my first vote for you.
Second vote: Kelly Griffel
Because: This poem attracted my attention directly. You haven't used complicated words or rhyme schemes. It's the simplicity that works. I really like your ''Ghost Town'' idea. I love the last two lines.
Third vote: Smoky
Because: You get my last vote - I had to chose between you and Tarantallegra. But it's hard to explain why I like your poem so much. The last four lines really work for me, I guess. They sound strong, partly because of the rhyme. |

1st vote goes to Smoky
I think that the new thing you tried is actually working out really well! I really got an image of what you're writing and I smiled at the old oak trees part at the end.
You do have to check your spelling before you post a poem, though!
It reads a lot easier.
2nd vote goes to T O N K S (again)
Your vocabulary is, again, dashing, but you live in Australia so what the hell, I won't be commenting on that again xD I'd choose your poem merely for the fact that you thought of a blind boy in a 3d world country, and cast his whole world into just one poem, but it's
also beautifully written, so good job!
3d vote goes to Tarantallegra
Guh. You do a pretty good job at maintaining the position of my favourite HPF-poem maker, and I'm not trying to be a kiss-ass. Your poem is just stunning and I felt what you wrote, so I guess that's a good thing (: You really deserve my vote.
PS: Geez. You really like to use the word poppy, don't you? xD
I guess I aimed at the poems that weren't like the vision I had of it; a boy feeling divine and on top of the world. Even though those were really good, too, I had a "wow, yeah, come to think of it, he does look like he's thinking this and that" moment at these
poems, so I'm sorry. And @ Plot & Marlie, I really think you should go for the anonymous posting idea. |

My first vote goes to; Sweet Hermione
Yey, nice poem. ^^ It’s extremely short but not too. You describe things in short sentences but not in the same stanza’s; it makes it different from the rest. And you’ve expressed your own emotions, which is always a big plus.
My second vote goes to; LavenderBrown
I like your poem because it has so many contrasts. Black, white, wilt burn, etc.
Also the subject seems to a bit change somewhere along, more personal. Or about the boy. And I really like the ending. ( Oh, and the title of course XD )
My third vote goes to; Hippogriefje
Maybe your poem is not the best but it still touched me. It’s a bittersweet poem and it gives me mixed feelings. It makes me think. Therefore you get my third vote, for being inspirational. |

Okay folks, we’ve exactly the same problem as last time, so you have to vote again (sorry, we’re still trying to find a perfect solution.)
But first;
Our first place winner; Smoky (with 6 votes)
Our second place winner; Tarantallegra (with 4 votes)
Alright we’ll just repeat what we’ve done before;
So, I'd like to ask for a second voting.
Judge the contestants by giving them points:
you give the person who you found to be the least good 1 points, and the one you think is the best 4 points.
The ''new'' challenge is between:
* Lupos-freak
* Hippogriefje
* LavenderBrown
* Child of the other Side
* Sweet Hermione
You can only choose 4 persons and the winners cannot vote for themselves.
You can vote till the 2nd (12 o’ clock midnight.)
And this is my choice;
Lupos-freak - 1
Hippogriefje - 2
LavenderBrown - 3
Sweet Hermione - 4 |
