After a short silence, Sam speaks up and basically tells them he's going to have a look at the map. Then it is silent for a while again, and then Sam starts talking again. Sam confirms that they are at the bottom of the labyrinth, somewhere in the middle. Beck tries to envision the map again. Sam then proceeds to tell them about the amount of numbers around them.

,,That's seems fine to me too,'' Beck says, after hearing Reese's opinion on the matter. Beck thinks the same way about it, and even though constantly having to agree with Reese or Ivy wasn't really what he wanted to, he kind of didn't want to argue with them, being in this position.

,,Eh, Sam? We decided that we're going to take the shortest route possible and reunite as soon as possible. So...'' Beck glances at Reese. ,,...Could you tell us where we're supposed to go?'' there location on the map might be interpretated differently than their actual position. What was right and left on the map, wasn't neccesarily right or left for them. Everything depended on the group with the map...

It seems it is quickly decided that the group wants to reunite as quickly as possible and Dahsi is pleased with that. They ask Sam to describe they route and Dahsi hold up the map again. While Sam holds the walky-talky and Dahsi the map, she decides they can do some team-work. She speaks as directly into the walky-talky as she can.

"Alright, you're probably facing away from the tunnel. So if you are, just follow the road until you get to a point where you can go left or right. Turn right when you get there," she starts. "Then follow the road until you get to a another section where you can go either right or straight ahead. Keep going straight ahead all the way to the end and then follow the bend to the right. Eventually you can go left or right. Go left and keep on going until you get to the first number, number 57."

Dahsi takes a deep breath. "So right, straight ahead and then left. If you get lost, just ask us for directions."

If they'd scaled the map properly, it would take around 500 meters to get to the first challenge. Now they'd have to decide whether to wait here or start on challenge 28. She takes out her water bottle and takes a few sips.

The walls of the Cave they enter are lined with flickering torches. The flames make the cave, which apparently seemed to be a tunnel, bathe in a warm glow. Tough the small tunnel is frightening for Isaac, it seems to small, and Isaac is not fond of small spaces. That the entrance closes behind them, Isaac barely seems to notice. He’s to concentrated on regulating his breath in order not to freak out…

Luckily after a short time they appear in a wonderful white place. Everything is covered with snow, it makes for a beautiful and enchanted view. Happily Isaac inhales the fresh air , and mentally he embraces the new found freedom. Only then he realizes that they are separated from the others. Well that was kinda a surprise, and not really a nice one. But Isaac is so happy with the fresh air and the snow, the cold blowing trough his hair and a faint smile appears on his face, that he does not care that much about Reese, Beck and Ivy around talking.

Isaac seemed to have missed that Sam had given Beck one of his walky-talkies. Beck contacts the others to ask what they should do. Frankly Isaac didn't want to hurry back to the others. They had a chance to win it now, they proceeded already much further then the other . This was a chance like no other to win this game. Unfortunately the others seem to think otherwise. Although Ivy grunts and sighs when she agrees with Reese and Beck. Isaac is certain to speak with her once they're on the next spot. Maybe together they could convince Reese and Beck ?

Once they get the instructs from the other group , Isaac decides to take the lead. "Well lads, let's get walking again" he beams to the others and starts walking towards number 57 according to the Dahsi's description.

Ivy sighs and doesn't seem to agree with Reese, though Beck - to Reese's surprise - does. And Isaac doesn't say anything at all, but is instead somewhat uselessly standing around and smiling. Reese still sees him as a threat, however: she hasn't forgotten how he killed that lion.

Dahsi starts explaining how they'll need to walk. Reese listens intently. If only they'd had the map... then they wouldn't need the others. It's only because they will need the map to track their progress and know where they are that Reese feels that they need to return. Otherwise, she would have seen the possible advantages in splitting up. As it is now, though, she wants to get back to the others as soon as possible and make a second copy of the map, in case they get separated again.

Isaac finally decides to say something, although it's a simple 'let's get walking again'. Reese nods and follows him, walking with a brisk pace. They keep walking for a while, following Dahsi's directions. Reese whistles a made up song, trying to stay positive and cheerful.

Eventually, they reach what seems to be a huge hole in the ground, stretching from one wall of the labyrinth to the other; Reese almost steps over the edge, but then realizes what she's doing and stops - only to see a whole lot of snakes in there. "F*ck!" she exclaims, immediately jumping back.

Her heart's racing, but she's already calming down. Need to pay better attention to where I'm going, she thinks. "Well, I guess we've reached the next task," Reese deadpans. She tries to gauge the distance to the other side of the pit. It's not jumpable, at least. There are some trees on the other side. Odd. Well, let's see if we get any instructions from the voice.

As the group migrates, the weather seems to once again change. The snow is soon left behind and replaced by a horrible humidity, while they arrive at challenge 57. If the voice could be seen, there'd be an evil smile on his face.

"Congratulations young padawans. Next challenge... well it doesn't need much explaining. It's a pit full of snakes and I can tell you it was a challenge in itself to get those vicious bastards in there," he recalls. "Have fun."

Dahsi's delightful voice tells them where to go, so they start following her directions. Ivy hangs behind and starts thinking about the mysterious box that she's dragging along in her bag. Could something useful be in it? She almost blindly follows Reese, so when Reese comes to a halt, Ivy nearly bumps into her. She's about to ask her what made her stop, but Ivy soon notices the snakes in the hole. It doesn't look small enough to be jumped across. Great.

"Thanks," she snarls at the radio.

She sighs and proceeds to glare at Beck and Isaac, as if they're responsible for this. Her eyes quickly return to the snakes though. Her mind is racing: what can they do? They can't jump. They can't do much at all. They could lower themselves into the hole and walk across it and then climb out again? But what if those bastards were poisonous? One thing was for sure: she was not going to be the first one going in; she was not going to be the one to get poisoned and die. One of the guys would have to do it. They could call it chivalry, or whatever made men feel good about themselves these days.

"It looks like we'll have to go right through the snakes, doesn't it?" she proposes. "Unless someone's got a better idea?"

Gabriel takes a look on the map while listening to the walky-talky conversation between, Dahsi, Beck and Sam. So while the other half of the group will have to do challenge number 57, they can atleast do number 28 and then meet the others at number 29, or not. 'I think we should do number 28, it seems fair towards the others since they have to do challenge 57…But then again I don’t know what they have to face and what we’ll have to face at number 28, and if those numbers are both big challenges where you can get injured badly that doesn’t help us much either with number 29 if the whole group is injured after those two challenges' he says thoughtfully to Dahsi.

So Ivy and Reese would not be here with her anymore? Zé is actually quite pleased. Right, glad she didn't enter the stupid cave. Thank you, Sam. But still, Beck and Isaac were with them and she actually wanted the to of them to survive this whole thing. Teaming up with Ivy and Reese really wasn't the best way for that to happen. And then, they're already on their way back to them, which, according to the map, wouldn't take that long at all. Sigh. She will have to cherish these few moments apart then.

'Let's get going, then,' she says, but not very enthusiastic at all. 'We don't want them to label us as lazy, I guess.' Not that she herself will able to do much of anything with her broken arm and all that, but hey, Zé likes to think she's still good for intellectual work.

Beck can't follow the whole discription of where they have the go, give by Dahsi, but ah well, the others seem to get it and Isaac decides to take the lead here. Beck giggles in a girly way - which he noticed and didn't like - and starts walking behind the others.

Suddenly, there's a hole in the ground - a big hole, you might say. Beck is alerted as Reese curses, and as his eyes turn to what's beneath them, they grow bigger. This wasn't going to be fun. Lions. Breaking arms. And now, snakes? Beck was sure not to think easy of any of the coming challenges anymore. The voice's explanation of the challenge doesn't really help them much further - they just had to get over the pit. That was all?

,,Isaac, you've got that rope, didn't you?'' Beck asks him. He then points at the trees on the other side of the pit. ,,Someone can go down first, carrying that rope on one end - someone who stays gets the other end. The one that gets to the other side first can just tie the rope around one of those trees, right?'' Beck wasn't sure if this was such a good idea, but he could at least measure what the others thought of it. ,,If the ones left behind can managed to tie the rope to something on this side, they can climb over it, using the rope.'' Beck thinks. ,,However, I'm not sure if that's a solid - or even realistic, for that matter - plan...'' Beck glances at Reese, from whom he thought the most reasonable reaction would come from.

          Sam Taylor

Sam listens carefully to Beck's answer, his heart beating fast. This whole teamwork-from-a-distance was kind of scary and he didn't like responsibilities at all. Sure, he liked helping people, but they were pretty much responsible for the lives of 4 other people right now, because they had no idea where they were.

Before he can reply on Beck's question, who asks for directions, Dahsi takes over and starts to ramble about which way they have to go. Sam has to keep his eyes on the map to follow her words, so he has no idea how the others are going to keep up. Luckily the starts over with a shorter description towards their first number. When Dashi is done talking, there's a silence. Sam glares at the walky-talky, wondering why no one even bothers to tell them they got it all. "You think they heard that?" He wonders out loud.

Gabriel says they should go to number 28 and Sam feels confused. Should they come back later for the other numbers then? Well, of course they priority right now, was getting back to the others. Even though working with a smaller group could be easier sometimes - if they had to fight lions again, they were pretty screwed. So he nods. "It doesn't matter what number 28 is. We need to go past it anyway, to get back to the others. I'm guessing most tasks could get us injured, so we need as many people as possible to actually pass them. Besides, we all have different qualities. I think we need the whole group together again. Can't say I miss all of them, but I think we need them." He smiles weakly. "I just hope they're okay."

Zé speaks up, saying they should get going. No, Sam doesn't want to get labeled as lazy either. It's just this whole damn labyrinth that gets on his nerves. He really wants to get out already, and this is only the first day. He blinks as that thought hits him. "Let's go. We should find them before it gets dark." He stares at the map and groans softly as he notices the number 9. "We can go around that mountain, right? I don't feel like climbing it again."

"Yep, you can go 'round it!" she answers Sam's question cheerfully. "I've been informed that's there's two blokes in this particular lot. Tell me some about yourselves!" she rattles on.

Afbeelding

Dahsi just nods when they decide to walk to number 28. They could come back later to finish the remaining tasks. She silently takes the lead until they arrive at the mountain, where she has to blink twice to make sure her eyes aren't deceiving her. There's a small bridge to make sure they don't have to climb, but can just walk straight past the obstacle. She smiles, relieved for herself and Zé, who are carrying injuries.

She's completely aware of the temperature and scenery changes. The whole Labyrinth was full of different landscapes. It was interesting and definitely kept it from being boring. As they get closer to number 28, the temperature is more pleasant at a steady 20 degrees and there are nice Elm trees all around. Then they get to a big black square.

"Alright... well it's my turn, if anyone has to take a risk. Gabriel went into the cave, Sam went first on the mountain and Zé took one for the team and stayed at the bottom, carrying the consequences," she decides, preparing herself for some horrific event.

Afbeelding

"One of you get into the square," she demands and waits until Dahsi has moved onto the spot. The cage falls down, surrounds Dahsi and suddenly the platform starts moving upwards, creating a distance between her and the rest "Well, I wish you all the best of luck gal! Your life's in the hands of your dear mates. They need to figure out what happened in the following story by asking ONLY twenty-five questions," she explains "There's a naked body on a mountain, holding a straw. What happened?"

Zé is starting to get tired of this whole challenge. It seems like all the organization wants from them is to put their lives in danger. Over and over again. And this was only the first day. She herself has already gotten injured severely and Dahsi was about to. 25 questions. Not that many. 'Alright, so I suppose asking you what happened isn't an option,' she sighs to the radio.

'But I mean, we can still ask pretty elaborate questions, right?' Zé is now looking at the two guys with her. Sam has proven himself to be quite smart, he solved the riddle at the mountain, but she has absolutely no idea what Gabriel would be worth. And then there's still that mysterious thing he obtained by going into the cave. Zé wonders what that could be. Maybe it could save them in case everything goes down. 'So maybe our first question should be what lead to him taking his clothes off?' she says to her teammates, not sure if this question would even be allowed. With this kind of questions, the rules are the answer can only be yes or no. But since the voice didn't say anything about that, it was still worth a shot.

No we sure don´t want that, because to be called useless by that male voice was already bad enough, to be called lazy to, well no thank you. ’Well you’re right about that, I just hope that the others don’t get injured too badly and that we won’t either at number 28.... Or else the other challenges might be even not doable when the whole group gets injured heavily’ he says to Sam.

But they can always hope for the best when they move towards number 28. When they pass number 9 again luckily they can go round it this time, they walk all the way to number 28. When they arrive at the right number, the voice starts to speak again saying that Dahsi’s life is in their hands right now and to save her, they have to solve another riddle.

Zé comes up with a good question, but then again will it bring them closer to the answer or just more further away. ’Well I say it’s a good first question, but maybe we need to be more specific, that maybe someone else took of his clothes giving him only a straw to survive, though that might sound a bit cruel or it was for a bet’ he says thoughtfully to Zé.

When the little groups arrives at number 57 there's an enormous gap in the ground. Filled with snakes. It is all getting on Isaac's nerves. What the hell was this, they clearly wanted them dead or deadly Injured. Of one thing Isaac was sure, he was not going into that damn pit.

Then Beck comes up with the idea of his rope. Of course, Isaac did think of that himself, but he hadn't had the chance to say something yet. "Seems like a very good idea Beck, but then there's still the question who will go down into this squirming mass of sweet little snakeys, I'm not doing that. Maybe Ivy ? "

He turns towards Ivy. All this was not what he wanted. And he was angry, not at her in particular but just in general. Ivy seemed someone who could bare some insults. There just was someone he needed to fall out with. So since Ivy had taken all other insults in a rather funny way, and Isaac felt the need to be angry, he turns to her :"Seems to me that you could possibly as poisonous as those snakes, taking in account all what you said before" he says ironically. "Just joking of course" he adds, as if his ironic tone did not say all."Anyone who wants to show his or hers courage ? " he then says, eyeing the others.

Beck proposes a plan, but Ivy isn't convinced. For starters, the rope would need to be tightly knotted in order for any of this to work. And secondly, the whole damn thing would probably snap under the weight of an actual human being. But it's a plan, and it sounds better than just taking a stroll in the middle of those snakes. "The chances of it working are slim," she tells Beck honestly. "But since no one can produce wings out of their asses, I guess we ought to give it a go."

She's just about to ask how long the rope is, when Isaac opens his hole and starts yapping about who's supposed to go first, and of course he singles Ivy out. After hearing what he has to say, she scoffs. "Yeah, I don't mind if you all think I'm a coward," she says simply. "You guys go ahead. I'll stay and cheer you on." Yeah, Beck could go first to secure the rope on the other side, and Isaac could test the strength of the rope by being the first to climb over it. If the rope could handle Isaac, it would definitely hold Reese and Ivy, whose safety would be guaranteed.

"So let's get crackin'!" Ivy semi-enthusiastically claps her hands together and looks at Beck and Isaac. "Which one of you fine heroes wants to go first? Be the one to defeat the snakes? Prove your courage for once and for all?"
