Sam seems to think that he and Ivy are buddies now. He puts a hand on her shoulder and starts talking about how she 'did well'. As if she needs to hear that.
"I'm fine," she repeats, shrugging his hand off.
"This isn't the time to get sappy and nice, Blondie. Let's go." She lifts herself up and looks at Sam. Maybe his caring-and-sweet-exterior is just an act. If anyone knows how to fool people into thinking you're something you're not, it's Ivy. She shrugs and looks around. Reese and Gabriel are arguing, but Reese seems to manage just fine, so Ivy doesn't tell him to shut up and move on.
At any rate, they move on, and Ivy hangs behind the group, in case there's some monstrosity waiting for them. But all they find is a cave and food. Ivy manoeuvres herself towards the sandwishes and grabs two off the plate. Apparently, they have to choose who will enter the cave. She doesn't want to go in for two reasons: 1) there might be danger in there, and Ivy would much rather live than die, and 2) she's not going anywhere without Reese. That was their plan: they do everything together, and they bring in the price
together.
Ivy thinks they might all start arguing again, but instead, Gabriel volunteers. What's his angle? He can't be serious about the oh-I-feel-so-guilty-thing, right? And this isn't brave, it's stupid. But Ivy shrugs. If he wants to go ahead and risk his life: go right ahead. However... What if this isn't what it seems? What if they're supposed to cast one person off into the darkness, just to have it turn out that they sent that person into safety? What if some kind of hell will fall upon them, because they all stayed? Ivy shifts uneasily. Either way, she's staying.
Once she swallows a bite, she smirks slightly and says:
"Well, have fun in there!"
