The Wrap is reporting this morning that 20-year-old Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence, best known for her role as Ree Dolly in Winter's Bone, has nabbed the coveted role of Katniss Everdeen in Gary Ross's live-action adaptation of Suzanne Collins' best-selling sci-fi series The Hunger Games.
According to The Wrap, Lawrence signed on yesterday after two days of negotiations. She had been the "clear frontrunner" for nearly a week.
Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four), Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right), and Hunter Parrish (Weeds) are reportedly being considered for the part of Peeta Mellark.
