A super-blonde girl takes the walkie talkies; a new girl enters the labyrinth with a map (which Ivy finds incredibly unfair); a new guy picks up the flashlight, and the girl named Zé finds it necessary to open her mouth. This wasn't the first time someone called Ivy a bitch, and it probably wouldn't be the last either. "You've got me all figured out," she says, smiling faintly. Ivy's well-developed asshole-alarm went off as soon as she laid eyes on Beck. He takes a lot of interest in Zé and her name and well, perhaps this is the way kids flirt these days. "What's your name? How do you spell it? But... your name! HOW DO YOU SPELL IT?" Ivy grins inwardly.

The blonde girl starts talking, and this causes Ivy to turn her head and stare at her, HIM, for a moment. "Well what do you know," she says, not hiding her surprise. "I could've sworn you had lady-parts under those clothes."

Anyway, Reese enters next, and Ivy gives her an almost invisible nod of acknowledgement. There are no objects left for Reese, but Reese has got Ivy, which is the best advantage anyone could have. Zé continues to yap about her name; everyone drools over the map and then-

Ivy listens intently to the voice. It seems to be coming from Reese's pocket - weird. Once it's done talking, a deafening silence surrounds them. Ivy forces her face to remain neutral, so as to look unimpressed by the voice or those words. She walks a bit closer towards Dahsi - the girl with the map. After a quick glance, she says: "Nine. It doesn't matter much anyway. Let's take nine."

Isaac, only had to laugh at the comment the girl made . Seems like there was a person who was not afraid to tell what she wants to. After this girl another person enters the Labyrinth. Isaac didn't know what to think of this strange human being, it looked not like a boy but neither like a girl. Apparantly it was a boy after all, strange.

When Dahsi comes in with the map Isaac takes a carefull look. More people enter the Labyrinth. Everyone introduces themselves except for one person. But before he can ask anything a voice gives them some instructions.

Isaac listens carefully, and he forgets about his plans to ask the man-without-a-name, his name. The girl with her big mouth opts to go to nine, but Isaac is not sure. I'm sorry, but I think three is a better option, it's quite far away from the rest and we don't need to go that way to move deeper in the labyrinth. But maybe that's the exact reason why we should go that way and take a look?.

Beck doesn't really care about the map - as long as it was there. The others would probably deal with it. Beck didn't care where they would be heading first. He lets Dahsi, Sam - who introduces himself - and Zé - which is apparently Z-E - do the navigating. Beck was surprised to hear Sam's voice - so much more manly than he looked. So he was a guy after all. Beck smirked at his own misperception and at the comment of the noisy girl. Sam must've been treated like a girl for looking like that - thus Sam and Beck already had more in common than Beck would've thought. Only Sam seemed to be frail and shy - Beck was neither of those.

The last girl arrives and goes by the name of Reese. Beck shows her a friendly smile when she admits she's a bit late. Really, who cares? If she'd been too late, she'd probably been disqualified and it wasn't like punctuality was an important quality in this game.

When Reese is done introducing herself, something in her pockets starts talking. Beck smiles excited. So they had a guide? He chuckled and looked at the faces of the other candidates - the noisy one immediately starts off making the decisions. Beck smiles at her, as he puts his hands in his pockets, his right one tightly holding on to the key he picked.

,,You're noisy,’’ he plainly told the noisy girl. Beck listenend to what Isaac had to say. ''I couldn't care less, but mr Hunnington here makes sense. Three is fine with me,'' he then replied in his typical girly voice, thereby giving Isaac his vote, just like the voice had ordered him and the others to do. Beck then turned his back on the group and smiled. His left hand left his pocket, and swept along his hair to fix it - instinctively, he really needed a mirror or something which enabled himself to check his appearance. ,,let’s not take too long deciding where to go,’’ he then told the others. Beck wasn’t really one to wait for others.

Dahsi observes the others curiously. Everyone starts gathering around her, seeing as she has the map. To complete the group, another man and woman enter. He picks up the flashlight silently and the girl, Reese, apologises. Some of the contestants are considering the map, when Sam speaks. He is apparently a man! Dahsi feels a small dab of shame. How rude of her to think he was a woman, though he does dress like one. A voice speaks from Reese's pocket. Dahsi jumps a little, surprised.

"I agree with Isaac. It seems logical to explore the whole labyrinth, seeing as we need to find the treasure." she adds.

Dahsi had to stay unbiased. She did not want to influence the group, so her article would turn out the right way. In the meanwhile she makes some mental notes, which she would later write down in her notebook.

The voice snorts at Beck's comment towards Ivy. "I like it. Noisy girl it is from now on." he comments. "Ahum- anyway, tick-tock! Three votes for 3, one for 9."

Zé looks at Reese' pocket in surprise. Alright, that clears up her question. Red first. She's about to say 3 when Ivy immediately points to 9. Whatever, Zé isn't going to argue over some stupid number. And then Isaac speaks up. And everyone seems to agree.
'Fine by me,' she shrugs as the voice on the radio says it's 3. 'Three it is, that's just to our left,' she looks at Dahsi, 'right?' She has no idea how big this maze is, so who knows how far to the left number three will be. 'Maybe we can try and scale the map once we've found number three?'

Sam nods as Zé agrees with him and looks at the numbers again. Some looked completely random, others were in order. The different colors are bothering him a bit. They must have a purpose. "I don't think we have to follow them in order.." He mumbles thoughtfully.

He raises an eyebrow at the comment he gets from the girl who picked the box. For a moment he considers giving her a reaction, but he decides to just ignore it. He wasn't looking for a fight and, right now, the girl meant absolutely nothing to him, so he couldn't care less about what she said to him. He was used to people trying to bring him down with their comments. It made him angry, but it would be stupid to hit a girl he would be stuck with for god-knows-how-long.

Thankfully, another girl enters the labyrinth, who introduces herself as Reese. Almost right after she joins them, a voice seems to speak out of nowhere and it takes a while for Sam to figure out the sound it coming right out Reese's pocket. He stares at it for about a minute, until he realizes he's staring at a woman's pants - which might just give a totally wrong impression. Quickly, he looks away, his cheeks burning, his eyes back on the map, while his mind tries to process the information and calm down his heart at the same time.

When the voice is done talking, Sam keeps on staring at the map. The annoying-girl-with-the-big-mouth-and-no-name instantly wants number nine. Sam frowns as he looks at the numbers. Nine was totally random, they would skip two numbers with that and Sam doesn't exactly expect any deathly traps right at the beginning of the labyrinth. In his opinion, number three would make a lot more sense. Isaac speaks up and goes for three. Beck joins him in his choice, something that both surprises and satisfies Sam. Maybe Beck wasn't as bad as he tried to make himself look. It amuses him that the boy has a rather girly voice, but such a big mouth. With him in the group, things could certainly get interesting.

Dahsi agrees with number three too, as does Zé. The voice speaks again and actually comments on Beck's nickname for the annoying girl. Sam can't hold back a smile. He liked this group. And whatever sadistic person who was talking through Reese's pocket. He nods in agreement with Zé. "That would be the best. Should we count steps or something? So we know the scale?" He glances at the map again. "To the left it is."

Ivy raises her eyebrow ever so slightly when Isaac suggests they take 3. She looks at the map again. When she sees where 3 is located, she can't help but let out a sigh. Obviously, the rest agrees with Isaac. Ivy has lived long enough to know that stupid people in large groups are usually the ones that lead. There aren't a lot of developments, except that Beck likes to hear himself talk and labels her as 'noisy'. The radio voice then continues to name her 'Noisy Girl', and Ivy finds all this rather amusing. Instead of actually doing something, here they are, coming up with nicknames and bickering about threes or nines.

"My name's Ivy Turnbough," she says. "But call me whatever you want. It won't matter to me." She shrugs simply. She'd rather be noisy, than an idiot.

And at any rate, Zé suggests they scale the map (Ivy half expects Beck to ask about Zé's name again), and Sam says they could count footsteps in order to achieve that.

"Look at that, that doesn't sound half bad," Ivy says. She's not planning on walking up front - they could find anything there. It could be a trap or a bomb or something horrible like that. If anyone would be blown to pieces, she'd love for it to be anyone but herself. And so, she holds on to her mysterious box, and looks around, waiting for someone to decide and take the lead.

Dahsi laughs shortly at what the voice says about Ivy. She liked him for now, but she'd probably hate him in the end for being the annoying little British guy that he is. Another two people, Zé and Sam vote for number three and decide to scale the map. Dahsi wasn't very good at Math, but she could count the footsteps.

"Alright so three it is! I'll start counting steps." Dahsi says loudly to the group, right after Ivy announces her name. "1... 2... 3..."

She starts walking in the direction on the map. The further she gets into the maze, the more it starts to look like a jungle. It gets hotter too. She takes off her coat and continues to count, until she comes to what seems to be a dead end.

"...75" she says. "Here we are! What-?"

Before the end of her sentence and at the exact moment the group has entered the space, a large boom can be heard from behind them. A gate has closed behind the group They're trapped within the space, which doesn't seem much larger than 10 by 10 meters. Then something starts to growl at them from the jungle.

Gabriel moves in a little closer to take a look on the map, and it seems that everyone is agreeing with Isaac to go for number three. He let his finger slide over the map and doesn’t really see why everyone is going with number three, okay number three is the number that’s nearby and yes it’s probably unlikely that they will pass any obstacles if they start with one of the first numbers, but other then that, he just thinks it’s stupid and they will make a huge mistake.

So also to him number nine does make more sense, and obstacles are there to overcome right. 'I have to agree with Ivy here, yes maybe there will be obstacles if we take nine. But just look at the map, if we take three it’s probably going to be a dead end, because we have to go back and pass the beginning again and who says we can go back to that spot once we had number three and going with number nine we won’t have to go back' he says. Gabriel certainly hopes that after these words someone will change his or her vote, if that’s even possible.

Then Sam suggest to count steps, and no it doesn’t sound all that bad, it sounds actually really good. Well apparently his vote doesn’t count for much as Dashi takes the lead. This time Gabriel does hesitate to follow Dashi, so he’ll waits what the rest will do and then follow, but then again they can’t just leave Dashi. So he takes his chances and follows Dashi. 'Well what do you know, a dead end' he says sighing a little.

Dahsi, Zé and Sam all agree to set out to number three first. Those were five votes against one for nine and two still unspoken ones. Beck guessed it was decided then. ,,Nice guy,'' Beck mutters with a chuckle when the voice speaks again, deciding to call Ivy the noisy girl for now. Ivy, however, introduces herself quickly after the voice has spoken.

It seemed to Beck that Dahsi was a very rational and smart girl - he couldn't really figure her out yet and she hadn't been showing much of herself as of now. She didn't look like the typical British girl and Beck assumed that she or her parents must've come from abroad. Anyway, he liked her tanned skin and the way she behaved: calmly agreeing with Isaac.

The guy that got in last agrees with Ivy’s plan, but it didn’t really matter anymore. The same as with Dahsi, Beck encounters problems with profiling this guy. He hasn’t told his name yet and he hasn’t really been ‘participating’ yet, except for agreeing with Ivy, which, for the record, wasn’t a good thing.

Zé comes with the idea of scaling the map and Sam agrees, coming up with the proposal of counting steps. Ivy agrees, but Beck figured Ivy already discredited herself with her almost malevolent behaviour. And it wasn’t really for Beck to say, but he didn’t think of such behaviour as strategically smart; it would probably be better to keep the rest close to you – even though that wasn’t really what Beck himself had done the past few minutes. Anyway, what if you had to work together on certain occasions? What if there were moments when the rest had to vote whether to keep you in or out, and for that matter, dead or alive.

When the group commenced moving to the left, and progresses further into the maze, it starts getting hotter. Beck sighs and hoped it wouldn’t heat up more; it would ruin the way he looked and even tough Beck was used to a little sweating inside the tennis court, he’d rather not sweat outside of it. After a short walk, the group arrives to a dead end and the door that closes behind them surprises Beck for a moment. Immediately, sounds can be heard from the jungle. Animals? Beck smiles excited – not really knowing what all of this meant. ,,Well, here we are. Number three,’’ Beck repeated Dahsi. Beck supposed the voice would be instructing them or something. There would be a goal to being locked in this ‘room’, wouldn’t there? ,,Let’s hear it.’’

"Patience little boy," the voice croaks. "Number three! Already chosen one of my favourites, I see. Ooh, that rhymes! Anyway, as you all will have noticed, due to the loud bang, you're stuck in here. And you're not alone, I can assure you." the voice seems to be enjoying the suspense a little too much and a spotlight turns on. Three massive and vicious lions appear out of the dark, contained by the door of what seem to be a small cage.

"Oh they look quite angry! And I'm certain all of you can guess what the purpose of this challenge is? Teamwork and of course, survival of the fittest! Are you all as excited as I am?" the voice keeps still for a moment, awaiting the response. "I guess not then. Well, here are your tools..."

Out of nowhere, weapons fall out of the sky. Apparently dropped by the organisation. There are eight in total; spears, chains and knives.

"...Not to be kept after this challenge. Good luck everyone! 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." with those words the cage suddenly starts moving upwards, within seconds the lions would be free.

Reese starts at the sound of a voice coming from her pocket, but then realizes that it's a radio. She masks her startled movement by moving her feet and nonchalantly putting her hand in her free pocket. Meanwhile, she notices Sam staring at her - or more precisely, her pants. Reese raises an eyebrow at him and he shyly looks away. Hm.

Meanwhile, the voice instructs the group to pick a number on the map. Reese takes a look at it and decides that they should start with 3; after all, if the prize could be anywhere in the labyrinth, they might as well be thorough.

She witholds her opinion from the following debate, though, instead observing the others and trying to gauge everyone's personality. Ivy is being a brat, as usual - Reese personally favors the 'you catch more flies with honey than vinegar' approach, but Ivy always does whatever she wants - but eventually the group decides on 3.

When they start walking, Reese decides to stay at the back, just to be sure. Though she doubts that there will be traps in between the numbers, she wants to remain cautious for now - so that means walking in the back. As it grows progressively warmer, Reese starts to become nervous. There must be a reason for the warmth, and it can't be good-

Suddenly, a gate closes behind them. They're trapped. Well, sh*t, Reese thinks. The voice from the radio starts talking again, and Reese decides that by the time they're through with all this, she going to utterly loathe whoever it is that's talking.

...Especially when the lions appear. The voice starts counting down and Reese scrambles forward to retrieve one of the weapons. A spear: she'd like to keep some distance between her and these lions, so there's no way she's going to pick a knife. "It's like the voice said, we need to work together," Reese says hurriedly. "The people with the spears need to distract the lions, so the people with the chains can chain them down and the people with the knives can finish them off." And yeah, that means Reese is on distracting duty now, but that's still safer than having to chain those monsters down; chains can't really be counted as weapons, after all, and the people with the knives... well, they're pretty much screwed.

With a deafening roar from one of the lions, the voice finishes counting down. The cage moves upwards and is about to open. Sweating, Reese tightens her grip on the spear. Dammit, this is the last time I'll let Ivy talk me into doing stuff like this, she thinks. Next time we'll just go sell monuments to stupid tourists again!

Ivy is not that popular, Zé concludes happily when they indeed go to number three. And everyone seems to think it's a good idea to scale the map. They start walking to the left and - in contrast to what Zé expects - it doesn't take them that long to get there. '75 steps,' Zé repeats, 'alright, let me write that down.' She's just about to ask for the map when she notices they're stuck within this confined space. And, to top it off, there are lions too.

Zé sighs, scaling the map'll have to wait. When their weapons appear, Zé takes a chain. She's here for some adventure, so why not do it right from the start. Besides, she still has her crossbow in case all goes down. Reese explains a nice plan, a quite obvious plan, but nonetheless a good one. 'Alright, I'm ready,' she nods to Reese. She already knows what Beck is going to think ("you look funny") but after this challenge no-one will mistake her for being weak anymore, that's for sure. She might not have that much physical strength, but Zé knows her fair share of techniques to get around pure strength.

A guy (Gabriel) seems to be only one with good sense, which Ivy keeps in the back of her mind. But despite his words, the group starts moving towards number three. Ivy joins Reese at the back of the line - she doesn't know what to expect from number three, but she's not planning on finding out first. They walk deeper and deeper into the labyrinth, and the temperature seems to be rising faster than the inflation rate these days. Ivy manages to free herself from her jacket - she stuffs it into her backpack. The box, too, is crammed into her bag. When they finally reach their destination, a gate shuts behind them. Ivy can't find the energy to be annoyed - her eyes are shifting around. She heard noises and it can't be good.

That's when the voice starts telling them what's next, and the lions appear and he counts down. Ivy's heart is thundering against her chest. She doesn't like this, at all. She doesn't like getting nasty this way; she doesn't like killing animals, and she doesn't like being dependent on anyone. Luckily, it's Reese that comes up with a plan. Ivy nods in comprehension and picks up a knife. Terror has made itself present inside of her, but she refuses to give it much notice. She needs to do what has be done - and she needs to impress these people. She needs to seem necessary for their survival. Zé takes a chain and Ivy waits for the rest to get their sh*t together.

She shuffles a bit towards Reese. She doesn't trust anyone to have her back, except for her literal partner in crime. If Ivy should find herself to be unable to kill the monstrosity, at least she'll know that Reese will try to save her. "Ready," she says, with a voice steadier than any of her thoughts.

As the group starts to move, Sam remains a bit in the middle. He isn't too happy, having others behind his back, but he doesn't really expect anyone to attack him already. Dahsi is counting steps for the scaling of the map and the air around them seems to get hotter, the closer they get to number 3. Slightly annoyed, Sam shrugs off his leather jacket and attempts to blow his hair out of his face. "Who set the labyrinth on fire?" He jokes a bit nervously, as they reach a dead end. Dahsi stops at 75. Good, now they could- A loud slam startles him and he turns around quickly, only to figure out that they're trapped in a space that's quite small, even for a group of only 8 people.

The growling makes him nervous and he takes a deep breath. Great, 3 was a bad choice after all. The voice starts to speak again and suddenly there's a spotlight on a cage with three lions. They're huge. A soft squeak escapes his lips at the sight. This was bad. Really bad. Weapons are being dropped onto the field, containing spears, chains and knives. Sam's body is trembling slightly as the voice starts to count. The cage starts to move and Sam's already pale face is now completely drained of all it's color. "Oh my God.." This is not his thing. Riddles and normal challenges were fine. Fighting lions was not on the Fine List.

Reese comes up with a plan. Right. Distract them, trap them, kill them. Sam is quite thankful for her quick plan, for it seems they don't have time to come up with anything better. With trembling hands, he grabs a spear. He's so not ready to die and this way, if those lions would come running his way, he could just turn them into shish kebab. Well, kind of. The spears were too small or the lions too big, but it should protect him better than a knife. He takes two seconds to try to control his shaking body. "Ready.." His voice breaks as he says it. Honestly? He's terrified. But he will do this.

Sam looks at Zé's crossbow and hates not having something like that. He bites his bottom lip and takes a step backwards. The cage is open now and his breathing is uneven. He really hopes teamwork is going to work with these people that he only just met..
