Chello people,

Like most of you, I'm a writer and I know what it's like to write a story and re-read it to check for spelling and grammar mistakes: You can't find all the mistakes on your own. Therefore we have Beta-readers in the fanfiction writing world...
The thing is: it's very hard to find Beta-readers who are willing to check your work. I thought it would be a good idea to open a topic in which you can ask for a Beta-reader or offer your services as a Beta-reader to writers....

So: if you want someone to check your work before you post it here (to make sure your spelling and grammar are good) do post here, telling exactly who you need and for how long etc.

You can do this for both Fiction and Poems...don't hesitate to ask...

People who are willing to Beta-read for others can also post in this topic offering their services to others..please do tell us what you want to Beta-read (poem or fiction...angst/romance/drama/humor/slash/suspence etc.)...

I surely hope this topic will be used a lot..for we all benefit highly from Beta-reading!

Well, Lavender Brown, if I may assume you're serious in that, be my guest.

I'm busy with translating my original written FanFic story (language: Dutch) into English. My vocabulary is between normal and good. But my knowledge of the English grammar isn't good at all. 'cause I always make big mistakes while writing between the Past and Present. And let it be those where I'm going under wile re-reading my translated sentece. I, myself don't see those mistakes 'cause from my point of view they aren't wrong. That's because my mind don't mark them as wrong while they are wrong.

You understand what I'm trying to say?

If so...

Could you please read this translated piece and correct if needed?

I'd love to help too! I must confess, my English isn't perfect but it's okay for stories like these. It doesn't really matter what kind of fic you've got, as long as it isn't H/Hr (or D/Hr and D/G for that matter) or anything too angsty. PB me if you'd like my help.

I want to offer myself as a Beta reader, my time is limited but this would help me improve my own knowledge on grammar and vocabulary in the process. I live in America therefore I am confronted with writing English every day: Papers, poems, stories whatever. Vignettes, memoirs....

English is my second language and I've known it since I was 8 years old.
I have been absent from this forum for a while now but I'm back! as summer is approaching I'd love to do this ^^.

I will do my best in giving constructive critisism the way I know best.

i couldn't find a topic simular to this in the dutch part of the board.
But i need to find a beta reader for my dutch lessons i'm writting. It's about quiditch. I'm really terrible at dutch so i'm making loads of misstakes can someone help me. Please send me an PB.

Hey. I've read many posts about people who want to beta-read. But I just couldn't help myself: I'm extremely bored and want to beta-read someone's stories. Can any of you help me out? Please???

A very weird request, but I just love to read english stories. (And I'm not fond of reading stories where the grammar is incorrect or the spelling isn't as it should. So if anyone is still looking for one: count me in!!!
