Dahsi's eyes grow very, very big when she hears what the voice has in store to punish Zé. She puts her hand in front of her mouth. "What?!" she shouts, absolutely horrified. She gets up and starts walking back and forth, not knowing what to do. Zé is first yelling that she won't let anyone break it, but suddenly changes her mind and asks Isaac to do it. Dahsi feels guilty for taking such a long time, but wisely keeps her mouth shut. She didn't want others to start blaming her.

"The answers are Geneva, Athens, Orlando, Paris, Oslo and Rome. They're cities. That's what they have in common." she very quickly answers with a dry mouth, before any more time would pass and another person would be in a hell of trouble.

She takes a scarf out of her bag and starts tying it into a sling. Zé could definitely use it. "I will help you any way I can," Dahsi vows. Isaac seems to be having trouble executing his task and it doesn't seem like that would make Zé feel any more comfortable. "Do it already Isaac, this isn't exactly helping her!"

Dahsi and Ivy are both right, he's only making it worse for Zé. But it wasn't easy to do. He pulls himself together, takes a deep breath and walks to Zé. His hands trembling , his heart pounding.

"I'm sorry Zé"he whispers softly, "put this in your mouth." and he gives her his rope, that should be hard enough to bite on "bite on it while I do it". Then he takes her arm, it is really thin, it wouldn't take long. But god he hates this task. There's no way back, so he does what he has to do. He feels her bones crack under his hands , Isaac turns as pale as possible and feels like crying, but no way he was going to that. Soon it's done and he softly holds Zé's broken arm in his hands. "Give me your scarf , Dahsi, or maybe you'll better tie it and take care now, I can't...". Isaac suddenly feels terribly sick, turns away and stumbles to a rock to lean on. He sits down, head in his hands, shaking.

Naturally, Isaac isn't too keen on the idea of breaking her arm.He turns pale and starts mumbling things. Zé is still holding her breath while the rest of the group start saying stuff too. She hears Ivy say it's best to just break her arm in two. Zé isn't sure if it's true, but it doesn't really matter, right? This means -no matter how they break her arm- that she'll have to walk around with a broken arm for the rest of this challenge. Unless they'd end up here for more than six weeks, something she very much doubts. This is almost the same as a death sentence. At this point, she will actually be hurt and she'll actually be useless. From now on, they'd be very much entitled to sacrifice her.

'T-thanks,' she says when Dahsi vows to help her. Zé feels as if she's going to faint when Isaac lays his hands around her arm. She wants to protest when he puts the rope in her mouth, but before she can, he actually breaks her arm and in reaction Zé clenches her teeth on the rope. As soon as it's over she spits the rope out of her mouth. 'Holy shiiiiiiiii!' she screams as she feels tears well up. Although she was very very thin and fragile, Zé hadn't broken anything before. Hell, she had never been in any kind of danger before. 'Oh my God, this hurts like hell!'

She has no idea what to do, she's just staring at her arm. Her mind's racing. How is she ever going to win this thing when her arm is broken?! It's impossible! She needs medical care and she's 100% sure the voice isn't planning on helping her out here. 'If-if anyone sees a nice piece of wood...' she says quietly, her voice still shaking.

When it's Zé's time to go up, Gabriel certainly hopes she's going to make it, because he doesn't wanna know what the disadvantage is going to be. Because it's not like the voice is going to decide that she has to eat an entire cake for example, that would probably be to soft according to the voice however.

Gabriel watch as Zé climbs up the mountain, unfortunatly she didn't make it and then the voice starts to speak again saying what Zé's disadvantage is going to be as gates surrounds them. But is that voice f*cking serious right now, break Zé's arm, they should break that arm of that voice person, whoever that might be, because this is just sick. Isn't it allready bad enough that everyone is risking their lives.

Zé points out that Mr.Perfect is the one that should do it, luckily she didn't choose him for the task. Because he does know how to break any bones, but he doesn't know how to do it carefully and in a clean way. But then again maybe he does know, but he doesn't want to take the risk and luckily he didn't need to do that. But he certainly isn't feeling bad for Isaac, but he's feeling a little bad for Zé.

But then he thinks about his ticket, maybe he should give the ticket to Zé so that she could rest her arm now for a little while all the little things help right. But then again maybe the next task isn't going to be that hard and Zé can manage it using only one arm. Ofcourse he could also think in a way like one down, but Gabriel did participate to win the prize in a fair way not in way of eliminate his opponents in a cruel way.

Beck didn't look. Isaac was doubtful of himself, and Beck understood. This wasn't fun. This wasn't Beck's idea of fun. The manner in which Ivy calmly comments on the way the arm should be broken, makes Beck sick. Ivy didn't care. Ivy didn't know empathy. Ivy didn't know ethics. Ivy couldn't possibly be human.

Dahsi warned Isaac - if he didn't hurry up, the next person was going to have his arm broken. And the next person was Isaac himself. Kind of ironic, wasn't it? Dahsi also provides the voice with their answers. Beck was sure that these had to be the right ones. Beck turns around and watches Sam. What would be going through his head at this point? He'd worked so hard. He'd done his best to avoid the situation becoming like this.

Isaac and Dahsi provide all the help they can to make it easier on Zé. And then, having already apologized, Isaac breaks Zé's arm. Zé goes crazy. Beck had to do something. He walks up to her and gestured her to calm down. ,,Try to calm down Zé...'' he tries to ease her verbally, but Beck realized himself that this was a rather pathetic way of trying to calm someone down. Beck didn't want to touch Zé - what if he hurt her even more? What if she didn't want him to support her - physically - in any way?

,,This is ridiculous,'' Beck then states. ,,She can't go on like this,'' he tells the others. ,,Can't we rest for now? I think everyone can use a little rest...'' Beck adressed to the voice. ,,Can't we?''

Sam hands Reese the paper with the other words. "Okay, looks like you guys figured it all out then," she says with a smile, intentionally discrediting herself. It wouldn't be good to look arrogant, after all. At any rate, it seems like they're going to manage to finish this task within the time limit. They've already solved the anagrams and there should be plenty of time left for the others.

Except that Dahsi arrives incredibly late, limping. Dahsi explains that she was bothered by her hands and that she hurt her foot. Well, it's clear what happened there. Clearly Reese's strategy was still the best; imagine if Dahsi would have had to climb to the top, the whole group would've been screwed then. She refrains from saying that, though, because it's certainly not something that's going to make her popular at the moment.

Especially when Isaac and Zé show up and it turns out that Zé is 10 seconds over the time limit - and that her arm will need to be broken. "Jesus Christ," Reese says, completely stunned for a moment. Getting your arm deliberately broken by someone is not fun. And it must be even worse when you actually know that it's coming. Reese is very glad that she's not in Zé's shoes right now.

Though it also means that she won't be able to use that crossbow of hers, Reese thinks. After the way Zé threatened her and Ivy, that is something that Reese is not particularly regretful about. And maybe that's cruel, but Reese is in this to win it, and the chance of that would've been lowered drastically if Zé could shoot her whenever she wanted.

Besides, this is not a game, and Reese has never treated it that way. The others might react horrified to what the voice commands - which, to be frank, Reese finds somewhat pathetic -, but she had figured out even before entering the labyrinth that this would be a battle for their lives, not just a game. It was why she had been so reluctant to enter in the first place.

So Reese clenches her teeth and watches without taking her eyes off the scene for even a second how Isaac breaks Zé's arm. After the first exclamations of pain, Zé mentions 'a nice piece of wood'. "You need to keep your arm still so that it can heal properly," Reese says hesitantly. She is a bit reluctant to help Zé after how Zé reacted earlier, but it's not like Zé forms much of a threat right now and Reese has some experience with broken bones. "A sling can do that job as well as a splint, and since we've got Dahsi's scarf..." She bites her lip. "Also, depending on the type of the break, there might be infection, so we need to watch out for that. Because if it gets infected and we can't treat it..." The words you're dead are unspoken, but obvious.

Beck then speaks and asks if they can rest. Reese nods in agreement, but doesn't say anything. She figures it will be allowed; as far as she remembers there wasn't anything in the rules about how much time they're allowed to spend in between tasks.

Dahsi doesn't watch as Isaac breaks Zé's arm, but she certainly hears the horrific noise she's making. Immediately she reacts and puts the tied sling as gently as she can around Zé. It's horrible to watch her be in so much pain. "Does anyone have any pain medication?" she asks. Aspirin was a fairly common thing to carry around these days and hopefully someone had some.

She starts looking around for some piece of wood, but there is none around. Just rocks. Beck and Reese want to rest. On the one hand, Dahsi thinks it's a good idea to try and regain some of their strength, but on the other Zé really needed medical attention and she was sure that would only be available at the end of the ride.

"Damn... a broken arm and a sprained ankle down. And this is only the third challenge so far," she mumbles.

The gates open again and all is well in the world.

"You can rest however long you want. Just remember that the longer you take, the longer it takes to get to the end. Once you're done resting, pick the next number," he responds.

The worst pain is over by now, though a nagging sort of pain has taken the place of the stinging agony from before. She still has to bite her lip to stop her from crying. However when Beck tries to comfort her, she bursts out in tears. She quickly tries to give Beck a grateful smile, so as not to make him feel like he was the one who made her cry.

When Reese starts talking, Zé immediately feels the urge to roll her eyes. She's pleasantly surprised when what Reese says turns out to be actually useful. Somewhat nice even. 'T-thanks,' she says a little bit uncertain, smiling slightly through her tears. 'Then I'll die,' she finishes Reese's sentence with a sigh. She knows. She damn well knows what'll happen.

Zé had managed to slip some cocaine into the labyrinth. It is in her pocket, but she's not really planning on revealing to everyone she occasionally likes to do drugs. On top of that, she really didn't take it with her so she could use it as a fcking painkiller. So she keeps her mouth shut and decides she can always take it at night if it turns out to be necessary. She looks at her arm, trying really hard not to move it. What a buzzkill.

Isaac finally manages to pull himself together. What was he doing? It was not his arm that was broken. He only had to do it, nothing compared to what Zé just had to sit trough. He gets back up again and is surprised to see that Reese is even helping Zé. Well seems like nothing was impossible in this maze.

Isaac had seen this challenge as just a game, but this turned out to be more then just a game. It could really become deadly, it was more dangerous then he thought was even possible. Danger was not something he was used to. Why was he even here, he had money enough at home, he didn't needmore. No he shouldn't think like that, he was here to prove himself, and because he wanted it, and if he wanted something he was determined to get it.

Beck opts to stay and rest , most of the others agree , but not Isaac. "Mr voice is right, the longer we rest here, the longer it will take us to reach the end, and taking Zé's condition into a count, we really should hurry to get at the end. Let's go on."

Reese is surprised when Zé says thanks. She hadn't expected that. Then again, once someone is in enough pain... well, stranger things than this have happened. When Dahsi asks if anyone's got any painkillers, Reese hesitates, but then says with a sigh: "I've got some aspirin." Of course she does; Reese is always paranoid about making enough preparations.

She could easily have lied about this. Probably should have lied about this. Who knows what else she might need it for. They've only done three tasks. It's that damn compassion of hers, though. She can't watch a human being in pain. It's the reason why she usually goes for non-violent cons. It's also a weakness, and one that she can't actually afford to have, especially now. Oh well, maybe it will get me some goodwill, she thinks. Besides, even with painkillers, Zé is going to be pretty useless from now on, at least physically.

While she takes off her backpack and digs through it in search of the aspirin bottle, the voice says that they're allowed to rest as long as they want, but Isaac suggests to move on. "But there are... what, at least sixty tasks?" Reese hasn't taken a good long look at the map yet, but she did notice that the numbers of the tasks went on till the upper sixties. "I wouldn't be surprised if it takes at least a week before we're at the end. Taking a rest for 30 minutes really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, and might help us more right now."

She finally finds the bottle. Reese opens it and takes two pills out of it, then walks towards Zé and holds them out on her palm. "Don't worry, they're not poisoned," she says wryly.

Isaac breaks Zé arm, which slightly surprises Ivy. She wasn't sure if he was up for the rather gruesome task. As expected, Zé does nothing to hide her pain whatsoever, and it's Reese to give Zé some advice. That's Reese's weakness, right there. Ivy watches it all happen with an expression of mild disinterest. It's only when Dahsi points out that Zé is so heavily wounded after three challenges, that a look of condescension crawls upon Ivy's face. Dahsi's right - they've got loads of challenges to go, and Zé is already half a cripple. Looks like we've found someone who definitely won't win, Ivy thinks.

The voice tells them that they can rest as long as they want. Yay! Bonding time! Isaac however, thinks it would make a difference if they hurried on, but Reese tells him that it won't matter. And then she gives Zé medicine. Ivy sighs inwardly. Sure, just waste medicine on people that will probably be of no use at all anyway. Why the hell not.

"I say we rest," Ivy says blankly. "Maybe play some games, get to know each other, enlighten each other with all our secrets. Should be fun!"

    Sam Taylor

Sam is relieved when the others are arriving too, even though he has a bad feeling about Dahsi being rather late. She explains why, and Sam forgives her of course, but he's worried about the time. Isaac shows up too and then Zé and Sam wants to give everyone a random high five, when the voice announces that Zé is ten seconds late. Ten. Fcking. Seconds. Fear starts to take over again. After the sadistic lion task, Sam doesn't know what to expect but it could be really nasty. And then - someone has to break Zé's arm. What the hell?

Sam feels sick to his stomach and there are tears stinging in his eyes. He likes Zé, this wasn't fair! No, he's not going to volunteer to get his arm broken instead, but when Reese starts about infections and Zé actually mentions dying, Sam wraps his arms protectively around his trembling body, attempting to calm himself down. He looks away when Isaac starts to prepare her and eventually breaks her arm. The sound is enough to make him feel like he has to vomit. He can practically taste it in his mouth. 'Oh God, oh God, oh God..'

Beck asks the voice if they can rest and thankfully they're allowed to take a break. Sam takes a deep breath and sits down again, curled up and crying. He knows he must look ridiculous - crying like a girl and with ruined make-up all over his cheeks - so he hides his face in his arms. He had been so happy about solving the anagram and then it had to be ruined by the stupid time limit. He curses himself for not being faster, for being weak, for going first, but it's too late for regrets. So he forces himself to look up at the others. "Zé, I'm so sorry.." He rambles softly.

Ivy says taking a break should be 'fun' because they can play games and whatever and Sam feels anger building up. Yes, he feels like hitting a girl, even though he's the one with wet make-up on his cheeks and ruined hair and a girly body. "Ivy, please shut up. This isn't fun, Ok? It's not going to be fun. Zé could die! She's in pain and you want to play games?!" He shakes his head. "I hoped you were different than you pretend to be, but you actually are a bitch. Who knew."

Zé secretly hopes that somehow, in some way, the voice will get her some medical help during a next task. A fcking plaster would be great. It's only her lower arm, so if she could somehow get taken care of by a pro, then maybe she could even use her arm a little during the rest of the challenges. Her thoughts are disturbed when Reese even gives her her aspirin. Wait, what? Wow, she must feel guilty. Or she's not as bad as Zé thought. Either way, she's really helping. 'Thanks,' she says once more. 'Again.'

Then she quietly mouths she's sorry to Reese. She's not sorry about what she said to Ivy, because the girl once again proves she's a real bitch. 'I'll take one for now,' she decides. 'Don't want to drain your supplies, and all.' Besides, in case needed, Zé has her own stronger medicine with her. When Sam says he's sorry, Zé doesn't really understand why. He had solved the anagrams, he did well.

And suddenly, Sam gets angry. At first Zé is very very surprised Sam even knows how to get angry. He seemed to her like the kind of guy that never gets angry, the kind of guy who just shrugs and thinks to himself how stupid everyone else is. But apparently he can voice his opinion. And Zé is quite touched he stands up for her like that. Wow, by now, both Beck and Sam have proved to be her friends. In some way. And so had Dahsi when she offered to help her in any possible way.

Reese surprises Beck when she offers Zé some advice on her now broken arm and, on top of that, some medicine - or pain-killing medication, whatever it was. The point is that Beck was surprised by Reese's sudden change in behaviour. Beck was still horrified by the thought that, if Zé had agreed to him earlier, it could've been his arm. With Reese so suddenly being a nice person, Beck got distracted of these thoughts, and payed attention to the confusion that everyone caused - who were exactly the people he should watch out for, and who weren't? Especially now that Reese showed some 'compassion'.

The voice allows them to - apparantly - rest as long as they want. Reese - again surprisingly - agrees to Beck's idea of resting for a while, but Isaac doesn't think of it as a good idea, since the voice had told them that the downside of it was a longer stay in the labyrinth. But Reese covers up for Beck's idea by stating that a small rest didn't essentially matter. Ivy agrees too Beck's plan as well, albeit be it in a cynical way.

And then comes Sam. During the breaking of Zé's arm, he'd not been looking like a few others including Beck himself, but he looked like he suffered mentally more than the others. And as Ivy - probably annoying everyone in the process - proposes the get to know eachother a little better by playing games and such, Sam reacts angrily. ,,Don't Sam...'' Beck muttered, trying to prevent another fight, but he was too late and Beck sighed. Here they go again. And why was Ivy always part of the bitching?

Because she didn't know ethics.

Beck sat down, tried to fix his hair a little, looked at the ground and then at Sam. ,,Don't pay attention to her, Sam. She's just a noisy girl who clearly asks for the attention she never got in her youth - or something like that. I mean, really, what could have happened to her that she doesn't know how to act at least a little normal?'' Beck then adresses himself to Ivy. ,,Tell us, loudmouth. It was you're idea to get to know eachother a little better, so why don't you tell us?'' Beck daringly looked at Ivy, ignoring what he just said to Sam about ignoring the girl. ,,Did they beat you up, or what? Did they tease you? And you couldn't overcome it?'' for a moment, Beck stops talking. With a sorrowful smile derived from his own past, he sneeringly continues. ,,Your parents didn't love you?''

Wow isn't that sweet of that voice person that they can rest as long as they want, hear the sarcasm. Can't they send some medical care for Zé, yes ofcourse he still has that ticket, but that's only good for one free death pass and when you have a broken arm you need to rest it for atleast two weeks, and who knows what will happen if Zé doesn't get the medical care. Could she really die.

Well and it's not like he's holding some kind of magical ticket that will cure Zé's broken arm right at the moment as he gives it to her. But anyway he has to think fast, because the end can be so far away but also so very nearby and before that he has to give that ticket to someone who deserves it the most, in his opinion. Well three possible choices will be Sam, Zé or Dahsi.

When Ivy suggests to play some games to get to know eachother, he completely understands Sams outburst. Because Zé just got her arm broken, maybe she's going to die of an infection, even though it's best not to think about that.
