It seems like help is in short supply at the moment, so Reese focuses on holding off the lion on her own. Blood spatters over the lion's snout as Reese hits in the nose with her spear; it roars angrily and bucks again, making Dahsi almost fall off. Suddenly, the lion charges at Reese, who hurries backwards while she mutters swear words and keeps the spear in front of herself. An outstretched paw almost reaches her, but Reese stabs at it and the lion retreats, giving Dahsi the opportunity to regain her footing.

Thankfully, Zé chooses that moment to help them - due to the arrows, the lion slows. The voice seems pissed about it, but Reese is just happy that it looks like she's not going to die in the next five minutes. Especially when Ivy finally comes to the rescue and manages to severely wound the beast, though she stains everyone with blood in the process.

Breathing heavily, Reese stands still while Ivy keeps cutting at the lion, which is now lying on the floor. Reese sneaks a quick look at the rest of the group; they managed to overpower their lions too. Reese's lion is the only that's still alive, though. Hesitantly, Reese walks forward until she's standing next to Ivy and grabs Ivy's hand with the knife in it.

"Ivy, that's enough," she says softly. Reese lets Ivy's hand go and is about to plunge her spear in the lion's neck, when Gabriel suddenly appears and finishes the lion off. "Glad you could finally find the time to help," Reese says dryly to him. "If the next time, you could try to get there before the beast is almost dead already, it would be much appreciated." Yeah, she's pissed.

Reese drops her spear to the ground and then sits down, still breathing heavily. The voice starts talking but Reese mostly ignores it, only vaguely noticing the water that's raining down upon her. Though a part of her feels like a motherf*cking gladiator right now, a much larger part of her is just now realizing what happened and her anxiety is going into overdrive. Staring at the ground, Reese tries to calm herself.

Zenobia Meridian

Zé looks away in disgust when Ivy stabs the last lion and the blood is now all over her. Tasty. She practically jumps in surprise when the voice lectures her about using her armor. 'Why the hell do I have it if I can't use it?' she replies, still thrown off by the sudden voice shouting to her. It's weird to be told what and what not to do by a radio. But she's not planning on disobeying. Who knows what the next challenge then would be. Kill Zé. She quickly picks the arrows out of the lion and puts them back on her back with the crossbow.

Gabriel feels the need to even stab the poor animal more. She's pretty sure it was already dead enough when Ivy stopped stabbing it, judging by the amount of blood spilled all over them. And then the voice starts speaking again. Oh the joy. Suddenly they get a shower and the voice assures them they'll be dry in no time. 'Yeah, like the heat is such a good thing,' she mutters. They didn't have any food, nor water with them. Really, heat is one of the last thing she wants. The voice promises them food, but nothing to be said about any water. Still, food's better than no foot. A little smile appears on Zé's face when Reese has a fall-out. Yeah, Gabriel kinda deserved that.

'Now, where's that map? Let me scale it before another wild animal appears to kill us all,' she sighs. Last time she saw it, Dahsi had it, so the question is mainly aimed at her.

    Sam Taylor

Before Sam has time to realize what's happening, Ivy is slicing up the remaining lion. There's blood everywhere, he can feel it on his skin, drying, hardening. His body is trembling, his heart beating fast. He manages to muffle a sob behind his hand, at the sight of Gabriel finishing off the animal. Yes, he just killed a lion. No, he isn't proud of it. Actually, he feels terrible about it.

The voice tells Zé she's not allowed to use her crossbow, something that distracts Sam a bit from the guilt and the blood. He takes a deep breath and turns to Beck, who's still on the ground, covered in blood. Sam offers him a trembling hand. "Here.. Thank you for saving me. I suppose I was a bit paralyzed." He mumbles, feeling a bit stupid.

Water rains down on them and in combination with the heat and the blood, it actually just makes Sam feel dirtier. His blond hair is sticking to his wet and sweaty face, his cheeks are flushed and his clothes are soaked in water and blood. "Food. Nice reward for this madness." He mutters as reply on the voice.

And... Yes! Sam finishes of the second lion. Beck lets loose of the chain and turns on his back, gasping with exhaustion. He almost forgot the last lion - but none of his help is needed. Zé decides to use her crossbow to injure the creature, but the voice warns her not to do it again. Then comes Ivy; almost hysterically she cuts the lion to shreds and Gabriel deems it necessary to give the beast a last fatal blow.

Phew, for so far the first challenge. The first out of what? Fifty? A hundred? Who knows. Beck comes upright as Sam offers him a hand. ,,Thanks,'' he mutters a little flattered. ,,And yeah, to be honest, you sucked. Except for the last part.'' Beck tries to smile at him and then proceeds to examine his knee, which got scraped on the floor when the lion pulled him. Beck's jeans are torn apart at that spot and his skin got grazed a little. Besides that everything was still fine, even his hair wasn't that much out of order. Relieved, Beck now offers Sam a real smile.

Then the water comes down.

,,What... the f*ck!'' Angrily Beck turns towards the ceiling and raises his arms in the air out of frustration. Now they've ruined all of it! Beck shakes is head and runs his fingers trough his hair. ,,I'll take back my words. This guy isn't nice, he's just plain evil! Jeez...''

,,Let's just all take a look at that map together...'' Beck - still a little out of breath - responses to Ivy. And no more rash decisions! Beck guessed everyone learned that. And now that he could conclude that Ivy, Zé, Dahsi, Isaac and Gabriel provided the main competition in this game, he knew what to expect. Sam and Reese had played more of a passive role. Sam managed to kill a lion, but that wouldn't have been the case if Beck himself, Isaac and Zé hadn't supported him.

Dahsi lets out a deep sigh while listening to the voice. She feels the urge to scream at him, but decides against it. After all the damn radio knew more than they did and she certainly didn't want him to turn on her or the group. She kind of likes the rain unlike a lot of the others. It was refreshing and gave her at least the slightest feeling that this horrible massacre was being washed off her. She didn't care for her appearance anyway.

Dahsi forces herself up towards where she dropped the map, her jacket and her backpack. The rest was anxious to go further apparently. As she picks her belongings up, she realises that her arms and hands are killing her. Damn those chains had really dug into her hands. And the left side of her leg was hurting pretty bad too from being dragged across the ground. Dahsi shakes the feeling off and goes to stand by Beck and Sam, showing them the map.

"Let's be rational. We need to cover as much ground as we can. We can cover 2 and up first. Then we can go towards 27. That way we won't miss anything and will waste as little time as possible. Then again, I'm curious what the pink thing is... What do you guys think?" she says.

Reese forces herself to calm down. The water keeps raining down on them, washing most of the blood away and calming most of Reese's anxiety. Eventually her heart stops racing and Reese gets up. She takes a last look at the dead lions and then wanders over to Dahsi, Beck, and Sam, who are already bowed over the map.

"I agree with Dahsi. The prize could be anywhere in the labyrinth, so it's best to be thorough." When Dahsi comments about the pink thing, Reese thoughtfully says: "It looks like the pink lines separate sections of the labyrinth; the area after the pink line has numbers in a different color, see?" She points at them.

"I'm not sure what that means, but I do know that we probably won't be able to just pass whatever the pink line is. It's there for a reason. So we probably need to find a... I don't know, a way to pass it, maybe a key or something, and I suspect that we need to find that somewhere in the red area. It makes more sense to explore the red area instead of wasting time, walking towards something we might not even be able to go past. So I think we should cover 2 and up first." And then Reese adds dryly: "Besides, as we have discovered just now, curiosity killed the cat. Literally. I'm not in a particularly curious mood at the moment."

The whole fight happened all so fast. Isaacs heart is still pounding heavily and he has no control over his breathing. His legs hurt, it seems like he hit a stone or something when he jumped off the lion. After he killed the lion Isaac doesn't remember a lot anymore, it went all way to fast.

Isaac is extremely tired so he decides to sit down for a while. The place looks covered with blood and lions, sick Isaac turns his head away from this sort of battlefield. Then the voice speaks again. Isaac would like it to shut its mouth, nothing really useful comes out of it.

When the rain start's falling , Isaac is more then happy. His hands and clothes ,which were covered with blood, are getting clean again . The filthy feeling of being responsible for an animals dead seems to wash away together with the blood. The cool water is welcome on his dry skin, and he licks his lips to get some water in. He really was thirsty and his throat was dry, hoarse Isaac croaks: "I agree Beck, this radio man is getting on my nerves, we’ll get food at the next stop, and what about some drinks or something ? “

Isaac has no intentions to give the map another look, he starts to hate this whole damn thing, fighting lions was not exactly what he expected of this labyrinth. Dahsi starts saying something about pink things on the map, and Isaac gets curious again. So he finally gets up and walks to Beck, Sam Dahsi and Reese who starts to talk. After giving the map a short look ,he says: "I think you're right Reese, I don't think we can just pass those pink things. And we better search everywhere for some usefull things, to maybe get past those things. Two is allright for me." He responds. Besides Reese is right about the curiosity thing, it nearby killed him, and the others .

Ivy isn't aware of Gabriel finishing off the lion. She isn't aware of anything at all, really, until she feels Reese's hand on hers. She drops the knife to the ground at once. After that, the voice apparently starts talking again, but Ivy doesn't hear much of what he's saying. She only notices the rain that starts falling quickly from the sky. Soon enough, she is drenched. The blood hasn't washed off completely though - she'd need a real shower for that. But at least her face isn't covered in redness any more, and nor are her hands. She can't look at the lions. Ivy's jaws are clenched shut and she breathes heavily through her nose.

The rest of the group seems to be moving along just fine. They are merrily discussing what's next. Ivy never thought she'd find herself in a situation in which she'd consider others to be heartless. She slowly walks towards her backpack, and then sits down next to it. She can't help but think that maybe, maybe this was a mistake. Maybe she shouldn't have dragged herself and Reese into this madness.

Yes it is true he could've helped sooner then what he did, but he certainly doesn't deserve that outburst from Reese. 'Oh yes it was a delight to give that lion the final blow he says first with a sarcasm in his voice towards Reese. 'I just did what most people would and should do with a bit of sense, because it's wrong to let someone or an animal die in tremendous pain, by letting it bleed to dead, I don't see any right in that, so by giving it that final blow I spared it from a slow painful dead..So next time, think first before you open that big crack of yours' he says angrily. Because Gabriel doesn't like to murder animals or humans at all because what has happened in his past, but what needs to be done needs to be done.

When they all get a shower to wash of the blood, the voice assures them that they will be dry soon because of the heat. Well and isn't that just lovely that they get something to eat by there next stop, what kind of a reward is that. 'I also agree with Dashi' Gabriel says. The words that are being said by Reese are also making perfect sense to him, but he doesn't feel the need to say something about it, because he kinda dislikes Reese now for the moment.

Sam is glad that Beck actually reacts on his offer and pulls himself up. A shy smile appears on his face. Even the insult can't wipe the smile away. "Well, I don't exactly kill lions every day." Is his dry response, only slightly out of breath. His eyes examine the boy's body. Thankfully, there isn't a lot of damage. Only his jeans are torn and his knee seems to be scratched slightly, but nothing too bad. Blushing slightly, he returns the smile Beck gives him.

Beck's reaction on the water was to be expected and Sam can't hold back a small chuckle. Dahsi joins them with the map and Sam looks at it, while attempting to wipe his dirty face with his shirt. It was ruined anyway, a few more stains wouldn't make a difference. Though within a few seconds, he's terribly self-conscious about his exposed stomach, so he quickly fixes his shirt again.

He listens to Dahsi's reasoning and nods. "I think we should go past all the numbers. If we go towards 27 first, we will waste time when we go back later to finish the other numbers, like 2, 4 and 9.. So I vote for number 2." He listens to what Reese says and looks, once again, at the pink lines. Her thoughts seem to make sense, but Sam isn't too eager to run towards them to see what's awaiting them. Isaac agrees with Reese too and Sam notices Ivy, who has retreated to her bag. He doesn't particularly like the girl, after the comment she made about his gender. But then again, he couldn't blame her and he'd heard worse insults.

A bit awkwardly, he shuffles towards the girl, sitting down next to her. "Hey.. Are you alright?"

She hears someone come near her, and ultimately sit down. Ivy glances to her side and sees that it's Sam. He asks if she's alright. A very faint smile appears on her face. "Ah, Blondie," she says quietly. "I'm fine, of course." Which may not necessarily be true, but you can't let your guard down for a second in here. And by 'in here', she means 'this world'. She focuses her eyes on her bag.

It may be good to have a sort of ally though, besides Reese. It may be good to be on good terms with someone, in case it's useful later. That's why she looks at Sam and says: "and how are you?" The same forced, faint smile is plastered on her face all the while. "I wonder what the next task is. Killing panthers, maybe? At the end of this, we may have murdered the entire animal population." She shakes her head. "But if that's what must be done... then, we'll do it."

Reese nods when Isaac agrees with her. At least someone is making sense. Gabriel certainly isn't, because suddenly he decides to take her comment towards him completely the wrong way. Reese is already tense and wound up because of what happened and this only serves to piss her off more. She usually presents herself as innocent and somewhat naive, but while that might work with rich perverted men, it certainly isn't a tactic that will get her anywhere in the labyrinth. They just killed a couple of lions, no one can emerge from that looking like a saint, so she decides to shed that particular persona.

"I didn't mean giving the lion the final blow, you moron," Reese reacts sharply. She'd hesitated about adding that last part, but then figured that if she was going to antagonize someone, she might as well do it properly. "I think that was merciful. It's about you 'conveniently' not stepping in until the beast wasn't a threat anymore. Dahsi and I were in some serious danger there, could've used some help, and you just stood to the side and didn't do anything!"

Reese angrily crosses her arms. "I'm all about helping the animals and fluffy stuff like that, but at the moment I'm a little bit more concerned about human lives. Our lives, to be exact. We're not going to get far without working together" - for now, she adds in her mind - "and you're not pulling your weight!"

She takes a deep, calming breath. She's completely drenched because of the water by now, and despite the heat of the jungle, Reese feels cold. Out of sorts. She sneaks a look at Ivy and is surprised to see that the woman has not recovered yet. Ivy always seems so strong, but now... Reese wonders if she should go over there, maybe help her somehow - having a partner is no use if that partner is in shock - but Sam is already on his way. Instead, Reese decides to stand her ground. She looks at Gabriel with a fierce expression on her face, her arms still crossed.

Beck blinks a couple of times with his eyes as Same returns his smile with a smile of his one - and a blush. He then proceeds to go sit with Ivy as Beck, a little confused and a little irritated by this guy, follows his movements. Concerning Ivy: it looked like she was already through with this game, and Beck almost pities her. But then he thought of how much of a bitch she had proved herself to be at the entrance, and Beck refuses to feel sorry for someone like that - for someone like him.

Beck overhears Dahsi and Reese talking about the map, and he had to conclude from everything the girls theorized about that the both of them had to be smart. And especially Dahsi, who jumped on the lion and all, convinces Beck to hold her in high regard. He had to keep on friendly terms with her.

Isaac, Sam and Gabriel all agree with Dahsi and Reese, and so Beck has little choice but to follow their plan of continuation. ,,I sure hope two isn't as gory as three,'' Beck says. He too didn't like to kill these animals, but he'd definetely choose himself over these lions. ,,I guess three showed that we're really dependent of each other.'' Beck turns towards Dahsi. ,,You got some nerve, jumping that lion out of nothing. I hadn't expected that from someone like you,'' Beck admits, and he grants Dahsi a smile. ,,I guess we're all full of surprises... Did you get hurt badly?'' he then asks her, with a girly kindness.

Then Beck turns towards Zé. ,,And you're quite a tough one to. We make a good team!'' Beck tells her spontaneously. Sadly that this game could only have one winner - hopely that didn't meant that only the winner could live...

Sam frowns at first, but then smiles at the sudden nickname Ivy greets him with. Blondie, huh? Well, at least it wasn't an insult, questioning his sexuality or anything. And maybe it was even a well-meant nickname. The girl claims to be fine, something that Sam doesn't buy, but he decides not to push it. Instead, he just replies, as she returns the question. "Still processing." He answers truthfully.

Ivy goes on about killing other animals, while keeping an obviously fake smile on her face. Sam hesitates, but softly lays his hand on her shoulder. "They won't be that unoriginal. It's a game, not an arena. We're here to show our skills, brains, courage.. I think the killing was unnecessary, but it was the only way to get through this task." He gently pats her shoulder. "You did well. You probably saved some of our asses. It's hard to let go, I mean, I'm still shaking too. But we need to move on, right?"

A few meters away from them, Reese and Gabriel have started to fight. Sam hates fights, but it doesn't look like it'll turn violent, so he remains at Ivy's side. "Do you feel a bit better?" No, he won't let her get away with "I'm fine."

When Reese starts to bicker again he raises his eyebrow a little. He just reacted in the way her words came over to him and if that's a crime for doing so, well then he's very sorry. 'Because everything was happening really fast all of a suddens, and besides Mr.Perfect (Isaac) didn't do anything, so why not saying your little piece to him aswell' he says liverish 'but I'm sorry and I do know that doesn't mean much now, but next time I will try to react faster he says.

Gabriel was saying his words without any emotion, well atleast not with any happy or sad emotion, just as he's been doing since the death of his wife. Ofcourse he could put up a happy face when he needs to, or when it's to be expected, but only then.
