Ivy isn't aware of Gabriel finishing off the lion. She isn't aware of anything at all, really, until she feels Reese's hand on hers. She drops the knife to the ground at once. After that, the voice apparently starts talking again, but Ivy doesn't hear much of what he's saying. She only notices the rain that starts falling quickly from the sky. Soon enough, she is drenched. The blood hasn't washed off completely though - she'd need a real shower for that. But at least her face isn't covered in redness any more, and nor are her hands. She can't look at the lions. Ivy's jaws are clenched shut and she breathes heavily through her nose.
The rest of the group seems to be moving along just fine. They are merrily discussing what's next. Ivy never thought she'd find herself in a situation in which she'd consider
others to be heartless. She slowly walks towards her backpack, and then sits down next to it. She can't help but think that maybe, maybe this was a mistake. Maybe she shouldn't have dragged herself and Reese into this madness.
